On Duality | Constructive Evils & A Desire to Express

#JournalingJuly - July 16th

What are “constructive evils”? What did I mean by that?

Constructive Evils are expressions of emotional states & actions, typically deemed evil or adverse to an ideal life, that are exercised in a manner more harmonious to life by being less detrimental to others.

It is the admission to oneself that dark desires have flittered across their mind at some time, & understand that in order to process & move beyond it, a certain level of expression may be necessary.

The mixed martial artist who fights to express their desires for inflicting & enduring pain. The horror/erotic novelist who expresses dark, lustful thoughts through fantasy & written storytelling. The daredevil that constantly confronts existentialism by living on the edge of life; skydiving, exploring, free solo climbing cliffs.

Astounded, we look upon these feats with quite a bit of wonder & amazement.... despite knowing that in order to accomplish such things, one would have to be too at risk with the ease of traditional peace for it to be unanimously considered as “good”, & thus could be perceived as a tad bit insane... but at least, not exactly evil.

Through coming face to face with ourselves & acknowledging in what ways we have potentially pondered or wanted to express some dark desire, we open the door to an opportunity to assuage the evils of our mind while still satisfying the need for expression.

Ironically, in the constructive expression of that which is often suppressed or condemned... the arbiters of dark desires may find peace. They may experience a state in which no worldly catastrophes need be enacted, at least at their own hands as they may see it. So long as they are able to simultaneously assuage & express the detestable in a digestible & acceptable way.

Now of course, this is all conjecture as I do not perceive from all angles, nor do I have the rights to say my opinion should be regarded as fact. This is simply the detailing of a perspective that can provide you with more breadth of awareness as to the possibilities of how life could potentially unfold.

This is a means to acknowledge the all-too-human desire to express that which may be wholly undesirable, in a way that is conducive to a life well lived out of consideration for others & the Duality perceived.
